Our major seed production base is in Jiuquan, an important seed production center in Northwest China. Jiuquan has a dry climate with plenty of sunshine, strong radiation and a big difference in diurnal temperatures. Melting snows from the mountain and underground water provide continuous clean water for irrigation. The very dry summer offers ideal and reliable conditions for producing high-quality and disease-free seeds of a wide range of crops. On the other hands, the inland severe winter provide a good environment for those biennial crops which require very deep vernalisation to bolt.
